Megha Mehta

We as a society have come a long way in empowering women, looking up to them as equals and acknowledging their accomplishments and giving them equal rights to all opportunities. Still, some things are yet to change and women still need to work a lot harder to get a fighting chance at competing and keeping up with others. And then there are the battles they fight which tend to go unnoticed or are seldom brought into the light. Workplace discrimination, parents being overprotective when it comes to traveling, higher studies, marriage and the list goes on. Women like Richa Kar have grabbed some of these problems by their necks and lent a hand in solving them, all while making a neat fortune out of it. Coming from a consulting background and having worked with Spencer's Retail and SAP she had a secure job. After an encounter with a client from Victoria’s Secret she learned of the harrowing experience women go through while shopping for intimate clothing in India. She set out to change this and against immense resistance from family and friends and a lot of hardships she changed the industry and her company is now valuated at more than 681 Cr. The reason she was successful where others fail was that she had a passion and she was devoted to her craft wholeheartedly. But this article isn’t about Richa Kar, whose story is more than well documented. This is about Megha Mehta.
